Stories is a collection of stories shared by the readers of this site about athletes with disabilities. Enjoy the stories that have been submitted and please, if appropriate, submit your own story.
Media - How People with Disabilities are Portrayed
There have been many artistic works that are by and about people with disabilities. On this website we will not restrict ourselves to athletes but I will try to list when sports is a part of the work. I will also include relevant news stories and these will generally be about athletes.
Here are the categories that are covered. Suggestions for more categories are welcome as are items that I haven’t yet included.
Movies - Movies where one or more of the characters or actors has a disablility.
Television Shows - TV series or specials where one or more the characters or actors has a disability.
Books - Fiction and non-fiction books by and about people with disabilities or where one of the characters has a disability.
Music - Songs or albums that include songs about people with disabilites.
News - News articles about athletes with disabilities. These will include articles about a specific event or person and not general information such as when a competition is taking place.
